Chung-Hsiang "KshYoung" Kao
IN THE PAST...
KshYoung came to the states about 5 years ago from an island in Asia called Taiwan back in 2001 before he knew English.
In his 5th grade (1999), he was lucky to visit a small town near by London city and live there for nearly a month. "We went to this dance club for underage-children and they were playing 'Wild Wild West' in the middle of the fun time!" KshYoung got all excited. The reason for that is "because I always feel blessed and surprised [based on] how Hip-Hop's history has given me big influences in both life and music, mentally and physically" It triggered KshYoung to purchase an English version of the movie-soundtrack album "Wild Wild West"; however, that excitement stopped right after he was back home to the island of beauty, Taiwan.
A year later (2000) during the summer he was here in the sunny California, Fremont hanging out with his folks and getting used to the environment of "Land of Freedom." "The very early hip hop sound I touch was 'Up In Here' by DMX and 'Ms. Jackson' by OutKast" even though KshYoung has never found out the names for these songs and artists, he is still able to recognize how deep each instrument has affected his brain and is somehow still echoing in between his left and right ears. KshYoung called out, "Now, you picture that!"
This all happened in the following year (2001) in the beginning of the summer when KshYoung has finally moved to The Bay officially; on the way to his weekly Friday night bible study, out of the blue when he didn't know who these artists were or how to spell "rap and hip hop", he was insensibly in love with the sound they delivered on the radio; he even asked randomly "what's the name of this song?" "It's 'Oh-oh' by Nelly and he always does that 'Oh-oh' sound" replied by one of the youth group member who was in the same car, and soon he was teaching KshYoung how to pronounce and spell these words.
The same night soon after KshYoung was home, he hopped back on "Kazza" and he "downloaded any songs that were under the genre of rap and hip hop" although KshYoung stopped downloading music, he had the chance to witness how these big bosses burn tracks "during a real fire drill" on these songs from The Bay to Detroit city such as these well-known artists Eminem and E-40. "I just hope when I say please don't download, you won't." and look out for KshYoung's name both in Asia as asuccessful artist and USA as a Grammy achiever.
